How can Acupuncture support patients?
Support sessions of Acupuncture, have been found to be effective in supporting the alleviation of pain and discomfort associated with these stages of perimenopause and menopause.
Menopause Transition
The transition to menopause, also known as perimenopause, can start as early as 35 years old, though many women may not notice the initial subtle signs of hormonal shifts. From around 40 years, changes in menstrual cycle regularity and increased blood loss may occur. This progresses to more noticeable changes as periods become irregular or heavier, fatigue and stress become more common, and stubborn weight gain often becomes a concern.
At around 48-55 years, the last menstrual period typically occurs. During this time, most women experience one or more symptoms associated with menopause. This cluster of signs and symptoms is referred to as "menopausal syndrome."

When Does Menopause Occur?
A woman is officially considered "menopausal" 12 months after her final menstrual period. During the early menopausal years, common and distressing symptoms may continue to persist. Long-term health and well-being, including maintaining a healthy body weight, cardiovascular health, and musculoskeletal health, become increasingly important.
