Last Updated on 4 June 2024 by Brisbane Livewell Clinic

How do I decide which Practitioner will suit my needs?

Phone reception on (07) 4084 0601 or email us at [email protected] and we will be able to guide you to the appropriate practitioner.

Will I receive health fund rebates for my treatment?

Most health funds cover natural therapies. If you are unsure whether your health fund will cover your treatment call your fund or please call the clinic on (07) 4084 0601 and ask our helpful receptionists.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of health treatments needed is dependent on your health issue or condition. In your initial consultation please ask the Practitioner how many treatments may be needed. We offer packages of treatments to assist with the cost of your treatments.

Why have testing done?

Testing is essential in providing factual information to you and the Practitioner about your health condition. On-going testing is helpful in providing information about how your health condition is progressing.

Can I re-order practitioner only products without a consultation?

Yes, before your order is posted we will check with your practitioner to confirm your order. If you haven’t visited the clinic for six months you maybe required for consultation. A consultation is helpful for you as your practitioner can be updated with your condition and may even vary what you need.

Does Acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture does not hurt and most people cannot feel the needles going into the skin. Pulling out a single hair is said to be more painful.

Is Acupuncture safe?

The practitioners only use sterile, disposable acupuncture needles. The uttermost care and hygiene is exercised so there is no risk of infection. Once the needles have been used they are disposed of.

Can I do anything to speed up my recovery from my health condition?

Diet and nutrition have a major impact on most health conditions, ask your Practitioner or the reception about our 3 – 6 month health program that can be completed in conjunction with your treatments to assist with the progress of your health condition considerably.

Is there parking at the clinic?

You are welcome to park in the parking in front of the clinic, otherwise there is also on street parking on Hamilton Road.

How long before my appointment should I be at the clinic?

If you are a new patient and have not been to the clinic before, we suggest a minimum of 15 minutes, as you will have some paperwork to complete. If you have been to the clinic before, we suggest a minimum of 5 minutes.

If I need to cancel my appointment, how long in advance should I phone the clinic?

Our cancellation policy is a minimum of 24-hours notice.

What happens if something ‘urgent’ comes up at the last minute and I need to cancel my appointment?

Please call the clinic immediately. We usually have a patient waiting-list and we may be able to fill your appointment time with another patient.

What happens if I forget to call the clinic and I miss my appointment?

If you forget to call, you will be charged for the appointment. This will be billed to you and needs to be settled in full before your next visit with any practitioner. Naturally, we do not want to charge you any cancellation fees and so your full cooperation will be greatly appreciated by us all.

Is a deposit required to book an appointment?

Initial bookings require a deposit to confirm the appointment and will not be refunded if you fail to make your appointment without notifying the clinic (as detailed above). In the event that your private health cover meets the full cost of the appointment or exceeds the balance owing on your appointment a refund of your deposit (or part thereof) will be made at completion of your appointment.

What clothing should I wear to come for my treatment?

It depends on what treatment(s) you are having. You may need to undress to your underwear (leaving your bra on is optional) if you are receiving, Acupuncture, a Massage Treatment or Bowen Therapy.

Should I bring x-rays, scans or test results?

If you have had any x-rays or other medical tests, these reports may help in the management of your condition, so please bring them with you.
