Nutrition Deficiency Is Visible in Your Body – Look Out For These Signs

Last Updated on 4 January 2021 by Brisbane Livewell Clinic

Our bodies have been strategically designed to perform certain functions. Every organ has a purpose, and they work together in unison similarly, it is also designed to communicate to us when something is wrong—you get a stomach ache when you eat something bad; your body temperature goes up when you get a fever; you get a fever when your body is dealing with an infection. To achieve a healthy life, you should keep a lookout for these signs and take action immediately. Your body will communicate this shortage of nutrition in many ways—such as hair or weight loss and skin problems.

Nutrition deficiency happens when a body is unable to process an adequate amount of nutrition from the food.

Hair loss and Skin Problems.

Hair loss is an easy way to determine that your body is not receiving enough nutrition. When the body is short of nutrients, the scalp can be the first indicator of nutrient loss. This can occur due to hormonal imbalance which may also cause skin rashes. Biotin levels in your body decrease; this impacts the hair follicle that results in bald patches. Apart from this, deficiency of biotin also causes inflammation of the skin.

The Easy Remedy: Eat almonds, boiled eggs, nuts, mushrooms, cauliflowers, salmon and raspberries.

Dental Health

Your teeth tell a tale of their own. Malnutrition can increase cavities, tartar accumulation, enamel damage and loss of teeth. Oral health problems stem from deficiencies in vitamins B2, B6, B12, B1, C, A and D, iron and zinc. These deficiencies usually persist in people who avoid meat. Animal products are rich in soluble fats that help maintain dental health.

Easy Remedy: Eat Citrus fruits, organic poultry products, tuna, nuts and grains, leafy vegetables and milk.

Easily Cramping Muscles

Nutrition Deficiency

Cramps in your calves or feet sign that you lack balance, which can worsen if your body runs low on electrolytes due to excessive sweating. Low level of magnesium, potassium and calcium in the body might be the reason behind your cramps. Magnesium and potassium maintain proper flow of muscular fluids and help in lymphatic drainage. Calcium, on the other hand, strengthens muscles and improves nerve functions.

The Easy Remedy: Fill your plates with avocados, Brazilian nuts, almonds, yogurt, milk, pumpkin seeds and coconut water.

Unusual Sensation in Hands And Legs

The tingling in your toes is not a healthy sign. This happens due to B12 deficiency. This damages nerve function and circulation of amino acids.

Easy Remedy: Eat a lot of dairy products, eggs, lean meat and leafy green.

Why Nutrition Deficiency Happens?

  • Failure to maintain properly balanced diets leads to a lack of important nutrients. This leads to bad eating habits which further worsens your health.
  • Stress also depletes your body of crucial nutrients and vitamin.
  • If you have a digestive disorder, nutrients from the food will not be extracted properly, causing a deficiency.
  • Instil good eating habits with our diet plans.
